KYMCO Motor Engine simulation

KYMCO MOTOR ENGINE

A multi-body dynamics and flexible-body CAE solution designed to minimize operational engine vibration and enhance two-wheeler riding comfort.

OVERVIEW & KEY CAPABILITIES

TOPU’s Engine Mount Optimization platform employs multi-body dynamics and dynamic stress modeling to evaluate vibration propagation from the engine through mounting points, frame components, and footrests. Utilizing specialized CAE software, the platform builds rigid-flexible coupled models aligned with real-world engine harmonics. AI-assisted physical modeling then predicts vibration reduction trends across varying structural layouts, mount locations, bushing stiffnesses, and footrest geometries.

INDUSTRY VALUE & IMPACT

Engineered to fix severe rider discomfort from mid-RPM resonance, this service optimizes mount locations, bracket angles, and footrest rigidity to disperse vibration and lower amplitude. The CAE framework pinpoints fixes early in design—drastically cutting prototyping costs and trial-and-error cycles.

VALIDATION & EMPIRICAL RESULTS

The multi-stage CAE optimization methodology has been validated through harmonic response correlation and structural dynamic stress distribution testing. Developed in collaboration with KYMCO (光陽), the project successfully established an end-to-end vibration mitigation process spanning engine mount optimization, frame transfer path analysis, and component geometry refinement.
